Walking into a dispensary for the first time can feel like a lot: glass cases, unfamiliar brand names, a menu with a thousand items. It doesn’t have to be. This guide covers what to bring, what to expect at our Second Avenue store, and how to pick a first product you’ll actually enjoy.
What to Bring
Just one thing: a valid, government-issued photo ID that shows you’re 21 or older. A driver’s license, state ID or passport all work. We check ID at the door for every guest, every visit, even if you look like you’ve been 21 for a while. Expired IDs can’t be accepted.
Payment options are listed at checkout on our live menu and at the register. If you have a question about paying, call us at (212) 300-4769 before you come.
What to Expect Inside
After the ID check you’re free to browse the showroom. Products are grouped by category: flower, pre-rolls, vapes, edibles, drinks, concentrates, tinctures and topicals. Every package carries a New York State label with THC content, serving size and lab results.
Our team is there to help, not to upsell. Tell them how you want to feel, or what you’re trying to avoid, and they’ll narrow a thousand options down to two or three.
Good Questions to Ask
How long until I feel it? Inhaled products like flower, pre-rolls and vapes work within minutes. Edibles take thirty minutes to two hours. THC drinks usually land in fifteen to forty-five minutes.
How strong is one serving? Edibles and drinks are measured in milligrams of THC. For a first time, 2.5 mg is a gentle start and 5 mg is a standard dose.
What’s the difference between indica, sativa and hybrid? They’re loose labels. People often describe indicas as relaxing and sativas as energizing, but the overall chemistry of a product matters more than its label. Ask what similar customers liked.
Choosing a First Product
If you don’t want to smoke, start with a low-dose gummy or a THC drink. Both are easy to measure and easy to stop. If you prefer inhaling, a single pre-roll or a half-gram vape lets you take one small puff and wait ten minutes before deciding on another.
Whatever you choose, start low and go slow. You can always take more; you can’t take less. Don’t mix with alcohol on your first try.
Skip the Visit: Pickup and Delivery
Once you know what you like, ordering ahead is the fastest way to shop. Choose express pickup and come in after you get the ready text, or choose delivery and we’ll bring it anywhere in Manhattan in about two hours.
Staying Within the Law
Adults 21+ in New York can buy up to 3 ounces of flower or 24 grams of concentrate per day. You can consume where tobacco smoking is allowed, but not in cars, on school grounds, or in New York City parks. Keep products in their original packaging when you travel within the state, and never cross state lines with cannabis.
